goldprice.org uses the New York Comex gold price close which occurs at 1:20pm New York time each day. goldprice.org displays the change in the price of gold as a USD$ or other national currency value and as a percentage (%) based off this closing gold price each day. The New York Comex gold price is in United States Dollars (US$). goldprice.org converts this closing gold price to the equivalent gold price in 48 national currencies at that time. Other websites use 12pm New York Time which has no significance what so ever in the world gold market and gives a distorted perspective of the change in the gold price that has occurred each day versus what goldprice.org displays. The NY Comex gold price close is the daily close price which most gold traders use and which technical and other analysis has historically been based around. There are other significant values however which occur each day including the London AM and PM Fix. More recently the Shanghai Gold Exchange Benchmark Price AM and PM Fix.
